The head of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, has urged everyone to prepare for the next pandemic, warning that the next one could be "even deadlier" than the COVID-19 pandemic.
Addressing the 76th World Health Assembly, Tedros said the end of COVID-19 as a global emergency should not detract from its potential as a global threat, with new variants always a possibility. He emphasized the possibility of new pathogens emerging, which could be much more dangerous.
